Hidradenitis Suppurativa

What is hidradenitis suppurativa?

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a form of acne that occurs on the groin and armpit areas.

Why treat hidradentitis suppurativa?

This condition can be painful, and the lesions can cause scarring. Even asymptomatic hidradentitis suppurativa can have a large impact on quality of life.

How is hidradentitis suppurativa treated at DTLA Derm?

Our board-certified dermatologists provide each patient with an individualized daily regimen, including: prescription medications, cleansers, lotions, and diet recommendations. In the case of severe, scarring, or resistant hidradentitis suppurativa, we may prescribe Humira and Accutane (isotretinoin, Claravis, Absorbica, Myorsin, Amnesteem, Zenatane). We closely monitor your progress through follow up visits and serial photography. We also offer surgical options for scarred areas.

Please note that we do not accept Accutane transfer patients.
