What are blisters?
Blisters are fluid-filled skin lesions. Some skin rashes can form blisters, such as bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus, linear IgA bullous dermatosis, Hailey-Hailey (benign familial pemphigus), and dermatitis herpetiformis.
Why treat blisters?
Blisters may be painful, especially if sheered open, and may cause scarring. They can also be a sign of infection or a genetic disease. Therefore, it is recommended that persistent blisters or blistering rashes be treated by a dermatologist.
How are blistering conditions treated at DTLA Derm?
Our board-certified dermatologists will perform an evaluation and, if needed, a biopsy, to diagnose your condition. We will then recommend a topical or oral medication, wound care instructions and prevention strategies. We will monitor your progress utilizing serial photography and follow up visits.
