The diseases that lead to hair loss can cause itching, pain, or scarring. However, even asymptomatic hair can have a profound impact on quality of life.
How is alopecia treated at DTLA Derm?
Our board-certified dermatologists are trained in the treatment of hair loss. Due to the importance of this issue, we do not perform skin checks or other treatments during these visits. Patients should complete the following prior to their visit:
- Hair Loss Checklist
- Hair Loss History Form
- Records release form for any recent lab work, biopsy (path) reports, and/or doctor notes related to the evaluation of hair loss, if available.
We will likely order blood tests and may perform a biopsy. If you wish that your records be reviewed at your visit, you must collect them and bring them to your appointment. We offer PRP injections for those who may benefit from the procedure.
